Orange Belgium serves the Jupiler Pro League to its customers for the next 5 years, powered by ZAPPWARE.

Brussels, Belgium – 12 August 2020

Orange Belgium serves the Jupiler Pro League to its customers for the next 5 years, powered by ZAPPWARE.

Last weekend, the Belgian football competition started. Orange Belgium was the first telecom operator that signed a distribution agreement with Eleven Sports, which beholds the broadcasting right, in order to make the Jupiler Pro League available for its customers for the 5 coming years. This strategic move in the evolution of Orange TV had to be implemented in a record-time. Zappware, Orange Belgium’s Digital TV Technology partner, pulled it off to implement this extra feature for the fans of Orange TV.

Christophe Dujardin, Chief Consumer Officer at Orange Belgium, explains: “As a bold challenger on the telco market, we were able to acquire substantial market share on the convergent market, thanks to our strong and simple TV offer, including the Orange TV solution provided by Zappware. Leveraging on this success, Orange Belgium now takes its ambitions to the next level by granting access to The Jupiler Pro League on TV and other screens. After we secured this content deal, Zappware did a great job in bringing this extra content feature live in a record-time. We have been teaming-up with Zappware since 2014 in order to deliver meaningful innovations to our customers, and now to the football fans among them».

Patrick Vos, CEO of Zappware elaborates: “Our journey with Orange started with a first challenge in 2014: building a consistent user experience across unbundled cable infrastructure of different cable networks, a world premiere. Moving on, the evolution to a fully featured multiscreen solution and now the integration of premium sports. Winning market share and winning the battle for HDMI 1 can only be done by a seamless integration of Orange’s great content on Zappware’s powerful digital TV platform. As the end-to-end digital TV partner for Orange Belgium, Zappware is looking forward to support them to win even more fans now».

Red Carpet in Cannes for ZAPPWARE winning the User Experience Award for WIND-Hellas new TV service.

Cannes, France – 15 October 2018.

During the Content Innovation Awards held in Cannes yesterday night, ZAPPWARE won The UX Award for its commercial deployment for WIND Hellas in Greece.

Patrick Vos, CEO of Zappware explains: “Telecom operators want to stay relevant towards their end-users with their entertainment value propositions. With Zappware, our mission is to provide them with the right solutions to turn their viewers into more loyal consumers spending more time and money with them.

It has been a significant effort to design, develop, test and validate the right user interface, combining linear and OTT in a perfect symbiosis. The NeXX 4.0 solution-suite includes the visible part, that is the multiscreen user interface and the part that is under the hood: our back-office with operator tools. An important tool is the NeXX 4.0 marketing console, enabling marketeers and content teams to manage the user interface to bring relevant personalized content and up-sell triggers.

Great that not only the telecom operators are excited to source the solution, also their end-users love the solution.

For Zappware, winning the User Experience Award is really a fantastic recognition from the industry for our end-user focus.”

“We launched WIND VISION before the summer this year and got great end-user feedback so far. We were the first integrating Netflix with a state-of-the-art multiscreen video solution. Android TV and the Zappware cloud back-office running on Amazon AWS have been accelerating factors in terms of platforms used. The key differentiating factor however, was Zappware’s user interface. It is great to be part of this success story in winning The User Experience Award with them”, said Hermann Riedl, Chief Strategy & Digital Transformation Officer of WIND Hellas.

ZAPPWARE shows record financial growth figures for fiscal year 2017-2018.

HASSELT, Belgium – 9 October 2018.

With 17 years of experience in the industry, Zappware has always been able to surf on the right technology waves and harvest profitable growth in its home market and across the world. Last fiscal year was a record growth year.

Patrick Vos explains: “Since the launch of the new NeXX 4.0 solution-suite 2 years ago we’ve got good traction from the market, including from Tier1 operators, with now commercial launches in several regions. We reach end-user customer satisfaction rates of over 90%. That is an interesting metric because we always have had the end-user in mind while designing our solutions.

These commercial successes are also reflected in the financial results: we clocked a record revenue growth of 56% and more than tripled our bottom-line result last fiscal year. We’re on the right track along our international growth journey.

While further developing our presence in different regions, we also evolved from a project-house to a product-house. This guarantees a robust and cost-efficient model for our customers and for us. That approach is now visible in our latest financial figures”.

AMPLIA chooses ZAPPWARE to offer its TVaaS across The Caribbean.

HASSELT, Belgium – 2 October 2018.

Amplia is excited to announce its partnership with Zappware to deliver a multitenant digital TV solution serving The Caribbean region. Amplia will revamp its TV platform in Trinidad & Tobago and leverage that deployment launching TV as a Service (TVaaS) towards regional service providers.

Lisa Agard – Managing Director of AMPLIA: “This partnership will enable our TVaaS solution to give network operators across The Caribbean region the ability to quickly launch advanced video services to their subscribers. The great NeXX 4.0 user experience, its powerful operator console, combined with flexible deployment model were key in this partnership. We have the ambition to grow with new TV services with a new platform serving our local operation as well as to serve English-speaking Caribbean islands with advanced video services. What was crucial in the choice of a platform partner was the ability to build a platform that is “multi-tenant” or multi-operator, capable for to serve the different telecom operator partners from one central system and to have a solution provider that proposes a great user experience to trigger the demand from our end-users across the region.”

“Indeed, an interesting step for Zappware for a couple of reasons: We’re excited to announce this partnership with Amplia with this new deal because it confirms we’re on the right track with our value proposition. Amplia needed a platform with advanced features as well the tools to deploy several telco’s across their region in a flexible way. The NeXX 4.0 user interface, what we call the front-end, is highly configurable based on our back-office solution. More specifically our marketing console. With that marketing console, the content and marketing teams can tailor the NeXX 4.0 look & feel, channels, content and promotions per operator in the region. That is crucial in a multi-tenant TV service. In this case, the variety of networks and access technologies are a challenge. To address that, we deploy a hybrid solution that is capable of serving DVB and IP / OTT with 1 Android STB type. This way, the time-to-market and the cost-efficiency challenges are addressed. As a bonus, the seamless integration of linear channels, own content, 3rd party content and apps with the Google ecosystem. As said, we’re on the right track along our international growth journey.” explains Patrick Vos – CEO of Zappware.

Orange Belgium expands its video service powered by ZAPPWARE.

HASSELT, Belgium 31 May 2018. Orange Belgium is expanding its convergent offering with an evolution of its video features. This also broadens the scope for Zappware, Orange Belgium’s Digital TV Technology partner, who developed the multiscreen video platform.

Orange Belgium is continuously investing to enrich its Love offering, to support its convergent positioning and growth. The video service is a cornerstone of the value proposition, hence the importance of unlocking this service on Android and iOS devices, in symbiosis with the main-screen TV experience.

Zappware could extend its scope in providing now the full video back-office for serving all screens for a Live TV service.

“The scope extension for Zappware enables us to serve Orange Belgium with a true unified multiscreen user experience, managed through a unified Zappware back office. That is obviously an extra business opportunity for Zappware in our home market. With the end-user in mind, which is the DNA of Zappware, even more relevant is the enriched value proposition towards the end-users of Orange Belgium: a seamless video experience on any device in any location”, said Patrick Vos, CEO of Zappware.

This is our way of responding to our customers’ needs. We will continue to enrich our offers, add premium content and strive to have the best quality at a fair price, to make sure our customers can stay connected anywhere, any time with complete peace of mind. We are delighted to rely on our technology partner Zappware to support these enriched features”

Viewing on the go with the Orange TV app has enriched the existing smartphone and tablet app. Orange customers have access to a selection of the following channels on their smartphone or tablet: Eén, Canvas, VTM, Q2, VIER, VIJF, National Geographic NL, Discovery NL, Ketnet, Disney Channel NL, La Une, La Deux, RTL-TVI, Club RTL, TF1, AB3, 13ème RUE, Syfy, Disney Channel FR and Disney XD FR. They simply need their Love Wi-Fi connection at home or to be connected to a mobile 3G or 4G network in Belgium or in the EU. Watching live TV on a mobile network uses mobile data volume. Orange customers with Love Unlimited are the only convergent customers in Belgium to benefit from unlimited mobile data which makes watching live TV completely worry-free.
